NOBODY stresses like I do. So, when I got engaged it was pretty much a guarantee that planning was going to be quite an adventure. After making a couple of decisions on my own and realizing how tough it could be to find the right vendors, I contacted Malissa Laws. WOW! Thank goodness! It was definitely the decision that beat all the other decisions. Malissa made sure that I found all the right vendors and put all the tiny details together. When the wedding day came, I was ready to be a nervous wreck. When I started to see the magic that Malissa worked at the ceremony and reception site, all my nerves were at ease. A big thank you to the ladies of Uniquely Yours Wedding Coordinators, Malissa, Katie and Kelly were a big part of the success of my daughter, Hannah’s, wedding day in April. Katie was a calming influence as well as full of ideas for my daughter and me in the early going, and Malissa and Kelly were heaven sent during the weekend festivities. From the last minute tent decorating, keeping the wedding timeline on track, and especially making sure the guests did not run out of beverages during the reception they were on the job, as the mother of the bride to be able to rely on these ladies so that my husband and I could enjoy the day was priceless. Their courtesy, knowledge and professionalism will certainly have me giving them glowing recommendations for anyone planning a wedding.

As many people warn, I thought I’d lose my head trying to get my wedding together, especially since my family lives far away, so it was just my fiancé (now husband) and I. Katie made it so easy, reminding me of things I’d forgotten and helping me get organized.
Katie went above and beyond by attending the dress rehearsal, calming everyone down, helping my mom decorate the church at the last minute, and even dancing with my dad, so he wouldn’t feel excluded (he and Mom are divorced and he didn’t have a date). Every couple of minutes, she’d approach my new husband and I at the reception and ask us if we needed anything and how we were doing. She made sure everything ran smoothly. I had no clue what was going on that day, but she was there to take care of EVERYTHING! I had no idea how much of a help “day-of coordination” would be, and we even doubted, thinking we’d paid more than what we expected, but I think Katie did way more than what we paid for. Now, we say to each other over and over that it was absolutely worth it.
I thought the emotional parts of the wedding day were generally over after the mass, but as we arrived at the reception my eyes welled up again. The staff had done a FANTASTIC job setting everything up. It was beautiful!!!! And everyone was waiting in a receiving line for US with bubbles! I felt lightheaded…even dizzy at how beautiful and how smoothly everything was going. Only then did I see how much I forgot…but no one else did, because Katie took care of it. If I had it to do again, I wouldn’t change ANYTHING!!
Over and over, guests compliment us on the site, “the girl on top of everything” (Katie), and all the décor. We’ve been told over and over it was the best and most fun wedding they’d been to in a while, including my family, who had to do nothing but enjoy it…Katie and her staff were there to take care of the details.
I recommend them to EVERYONE now, as does my husband. We will never be able to thank them enough for making our day so wonderful….and beautiful!

Malissa Laws orchestrated the most relaxing and beautiful wedding I could have ever imagined. She took care of everything from organizing all my vendors to making the linens and creating the flower arrangements. On the day of the wedding she coordinated everything. I did not have to worry about a thing.
When I first met with Malissa in February of 2007, I had a pretty good idea how I wanted my wedding to look. I wanted a small, beautiful, winter wedding, and I did not want to spend a fortune. We sat down and she began to map out how to make that happen.
Over the next few months, she introduced me to vendors and provided me with so many choices, from fabrics for the linens to flowers for the bouquet and arrangements. She also ordered my invitations and kept me on schedule, so I would not have to rush in the month before the wedding.
I saved so much money with Malissa. Her relationship with vendors meant I received great discounts I would not have gotten without Malissa. She also looked at things with a much more practical eye than I did, which made me step back and really think about things before I made hasty (possibly costly) decisions.
In the month before the wedding we met to go over final details. She gave me a wedding-day schedule that allowed me to get to the wedding location with time to relax while I was getting ready. I was not rushed at all.
On the day of the wedding, Malissa was everywhere. She checked on me at all points to make sure I was where I needed to be and to make sure I was not going crazy. She coordinated the guests and the vendors. My 7pm wedding began at 7pm (not at 7:15pm, not 7:30). That amazed me. The reception was beautiful, and my guests had a really good time. I was so relaxed!

When I first got engaged I knew there were so many things to do in such little time. I started with attending a bridal event, and that is when I met Malissa. She was so eager to help with everything and was so in touch and personal. She completely exceeded my expectations. As time went by, she knew exactly what I needed and exactly where to get it. She did more for me than I could have ever imagined, including my flowers which were so gorgeous! She made the hassle of wedding planning a smooth breeze. I cannot tell you enough how grateful I am to you for helping me with my wedding. You've gone above and beyond as a wedding coordinator, and I have been able to feel more excited, rather than anxious and nervous about my upcoming wedding (2 days now!). I'm getting married in two days, and I have the time, and feel the need, to sit here and write a letter to you telling you how grateful I am to you and how wonderful you are.
Specifically, you have held my hand and let me cry on your shoulder (and use endless cell phone minutes) when the general stress of things just got to be too much. You helped me deal with all my vendors, which was especially great when I had a conflict with one vendor. You are fantastic at conflict resolution, and your calming presence has helped me to focus and get things done. Your organizational skills have kept me on track and have given me confidence that everything will go according to plan. Your ability to improvise and get creative has reassured me that if the plan goes awry it will still be ok - you will fix it and no one will even know it's plan B.
I still can't believe how much money you saved us by arranging all the flowers yourself and by negotiating prices with wedding vendors. You more than paid for the cost of hiring you in the returns of your services.
Mostly I can't believe that on December 1st, the day we met, I was a nervous wreck (completely stressed out and crying on a regular basis), and now I'm just dealing with last minute worries. Mostly, I'm asking myself, "Did I remember to tell Malissa about that?" because I know if it's on your list, it will be taken care of.
I have been singing your praises to everyone I know, and to total strangers as well! I'm telling anyone I meet that the reason I'm excited about my wedding is because I have a fantastic wedding planner, Malissa Laws, and if they are getting married or know anyone that's getting married, they have to hire her!

When getting ready to plan my wedding, I never thought about possibly hiring a wedding coordinator. One of the main reasons I didn't think about consulting the services of a wedding coordinator was the cost. I was under the assumption that a coordinator was just way out of my budget. But good fortune put me in the path of Uniquely Yours and Malissa Laws.
A little background on myself and the situation I faced as I prepared to plan a wedding; I am a graduate of A&M University class of 03 who, shortly after graduation, moved to San Antonio where I worked as a project engineer with Yates Construction. My fiance' was living in Fort Worth, and we wanted to have our wedding in Bryan. Thus, I had it in for myself; planning a wedding in a city where neither the bride nor groom lived was going to be a challenge.
I thank Malissa so much for working around my fiance's and my busy schedules. She was able to compromise her weekends (including Sunday's) to accomodate us. With that said, she also set up interviews with different vendors so we could meet them during the weekends. Oh, and don't think she just set up the interview, oh no, she took the time to accompany us and offer her expertise and advise before we jumped to make a rash decision. I really liked this...I tend to be shy and won't haggle with anybody to get a better deal. Malissa is not shy at all and will definitely negotiate to get you a better deal and save you money.
Thanks to Malissa, I was probably one of the calmest brides on the day of my wedding. Malissa truly went above and beyond the line of duty. I was able to go through the moment of one of the most important events of my life!
